About WSIEA

The Washington State International Exchange Association (WSIEA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1997. WSIEA promotes international relations by placing individuals as English teachers in China, connecting students from China with those of Western countries, and offering work/study programs for people of all backgrounds. We recognize that total immersion in a different culture is an unique opportunity. Our programs are designed so that the teachers and students bring home unparalleled stories to share with others and further the cultural exchange experience.

WSIEA is one of few organizations to have received a Certificate for International Exchange of Personnel for Overseas Organizations from the Chinese government. This distinguished certificate is provided only to reputable associations and few US companies can boast to receiving one. Our partners in China have also received such certificates, ensuring that we only work with schools that can provide outstanding teaching and living resources for foreign teachers and students.

A Brief History

Washington State International Exchange Association (WSIEA) is a non-profit educational organization located in Seattle, WA. We were established in 1997 with the goal of promoting cultural exchanges between English speaking countries and China. After over a decade, we have helped thousands of teachers and students to learn and experience a culture other than their own. We look forward to continuing this trend with many more individuals for the decades to come.
